About the musicians:

Wang Liang (Violin)
Wang Liang, the Second Associate Concertmaster of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, hails from a musical background in Shenyang, China. Renowned as a prominent violinist in Hong Kong, Wang has graced numerous major concerts with his exceptional talent. Noteworthy performances include his soloist role in “The Red Violin: Movie in Concert” at Le French May Arts Festival in May 2021 and his invitation by The Chopin Society of Hong Kong to perform at the Joy of Music Festival 2021.
Wang’s musical prowess extends beyond Hong Kong, as he has served as a guest concertmaster for various orchestras including the Macao Orchestra and the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2022, he was honored to be both soloist and concertmaster for the Young Musicians European Orchestra in Italy.
Apart from his performances, Wang is deeply committed to music education and charitable endeavors. He imparts his knowledge through masterclasses at institutions like the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Music Department of Hong Kong Baptist University. Additionally, Wang is set to speak at the 2024 ABRSM violin syllabus seminar and conducts the St. Paul’s Co-educational College string orchestra.
Wang’s musical journey began with winning the violin competition twice at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music during his school years. He later earned a full scholarship to study under Professor Lin Yaoji at the Central Conservatory of Music. In 2021, Wang completed recording all 24 Caprices by Niccolò Paganini, showcasing his virtuosity on his 1788 Joseph Gagliano violin generously donated by The Ladies Committee of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Society.

Huang Naiwei (Piano)
Huang Naiwei, a rising solo artist from Hong Kong, is celebrated for his versatile talents in classical and jazz music. His exceptional improvisational skills garnered praise from cellist Yo-Yo Ma, who hailed him as an “impressive talent.” Notably, Huang collaborated with composer Tan Dun on a piano concerto in 2017.
Having honed his craft at prestigious institutions like the Beijing International Music Festival Academy and the Salzburg Mozarteum Summer Academy, Huang has graced renowned venues worldwide. His performances have captivated audiences at esteemed locations such as the Great Hall of Stiftung Mozarteum Salzburg, Hong Kong Cultural Center, and Xinghai Concert Hall in Guangzhou.
In addition to his classical pursuits, Huang is deeply involved in composition and improvisation across various genres including jazz, pop, and film music. His talents were recognized by Universal Music (Hong Kong), leading to collaborations on projects like pop singer Hacken Lee’s album “Fu Ke” and performances with award-winning composer Peter Kam Pui-Tat at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
With a rich musical background that includes training under esteemed mentors and participating in notable competitions and festivals, Huang continues to inspire as a tutor at the junior programme of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
